MALAYSIA GRAND PRIX - RACE
Stoffel Vandoorne continued his great run of form in the 2017 Formula One World Championship, with another P7 finish at the Malaysia Grand Prix. Starting P7 on the grid, the McLaren-Honda rookie drove superbly in the opening laps, running as high as P5 for a time. Vandoorne pitted relatively early in the race but managed his tyres to the chequered flag and secured another solid points finish for the team. Fernando Alonso also drove well in the race but finished just outside of the points in P11. He got caught up in some of the midfield battles, losing time behind slower cars, and was unable to take advantage of his fresher tyres in the final laps of the race. The team now looks to next weekend and a home race for Honda, at the 2017 Japanese Grand Prix.
