MONACO GRAND PRIX - RACE
It was a disappointing 2017 Monaco Grand Prix for McLaren-Honda, as both Stoffel Vandoorne and Jenson Button failed to see the chequered flag. Vandoorne ran as high as seventh, and looked well positioned to bring home the team’s first points of the season. However, he was caught out after a late Safety Car period and understeered into the barrier on lap 66. Starting from the pit lane, Jenson Button also endured a difficult race, after being caught behind Pascal Wehrlein’s Sauber. An overtaking attempt on the notoriously challenging Monaco track saw both cars crash and retire from the race.
