Junior Travel Coordinator

Honda Racing Development UK (HRD-UK) is seeking a Jnr Travel co-ordinator to join the business on a permanent basis within its Milton Keynes office location. The primary purpose  is to support the Executive PA & Race team Travel co-ordinator for Honda’s Formula 1(F1) Activity. The role is within the Factory Department Operations Team. Business Administration

Head of I.T

Located at our Milton Keynes office you will lead the CIS Department of HRD-UK, including managing and developing the CIS team. Working alongside Honda Associates located in Japan will you will review, develop and implement the CIS direction required to support the vision of HRD-UK. A key requirement of this role is to lead and complete the separation of the CIS systems which current support HRD-UK and Honda R&D Europe (UK) Ltd (HRE-UK).  The CIS Department Manager will ensure regular project and outcome reporting to the Senior Management and Executives.

ERS DEVELOPMENT - SYSTEMS ENGINEERING GROUP

Control Systems Engineer

The purpose of the role is to develop on board control software for the ESS battery and other systems supporting Honda’s Formula 1 programme in order to ensure that performance and reliability targets are met. This role is accountable for all aspects of ESS software from initial concept, simulation study and architecture to software development and verification including all the necessary tools, equipment and process.

High Voltage System Engineer

The role of High Voltage System Engineer is based within the Energy Storage System (ESS) development project. The main purpose of the role is to take responsibility for the system level design and development of the primary power electronics units including inverter, converter (high voltage DC to low voltage DC) other subsystems (e.g. contactor, fuse that in HV circuit) as well as fault investigation and setting countermeasures during the ESS pack production stage or sign-off process. 

HV System Engineer is also responsible for fault analysis and investigation of the ESS pack at factory after races or test use, addressing any consequent countermeasures and conducting the following action within the team.

ESS Engineer

The role of ESS Engineer is based within the Electric Engineering Group. The main purpose of the role is to take responsibility for the design and development of the primary the BMS (Battery Management System) unit (VTBM board: the board monitor and report cell voltage and temperature and have balancing function, and Battery management System unit) and high voltage safety components (Fuse, Contactor) development. ESS Engineer define the requirement and specification of BMS unit and high voltage safety components from ESS requirement. .lf the development is worked with supplier or outsourcing, ESS Engineer take the responsibility for managing and leading the project. ESS Engineer define the interface of Battery monitoring and management system with software team to ESS and the other unit. ESS Engineer make the test procedure of proof of concept, performance, and durability for R&D test engineer and technician, and analyse the data from test result and make the report of the test. Additionally ESS Engineer have responsibility for research program of future development.

Software Engineer

The purpose of the role is to develop the software for the ESS battery and other systems supporting Honda’s Formula 1 programme in order to ensure that performance and reliability targets are met. This role has a responsibility to update the tool API for the battery development and race support tool. The role will be required to liaise with development teams in Honda-Sakura the supplier and to deliver software according to the schedule defined by Honda management.

ERS Development - Development & Testing Group

ERS Test Engineer x2

Honda is seeking 2 ERS Test Engineers to join the business on a permanent basis based in Milton Keynes. The purpose of this role is to work within the Energy Recovery System (ERS) development and testing team, taking responsibility for component, subsystem and system level testing of primary high voltage circuit, inverter, dc-dc converter and overarching battery management system. It is responsibility of this engineer to define test procedures, test equipment and carry out analysis of test data to identify issues before they could occur at the track. Methodical approach to fault finding, troubleshooting and implementation of countermeasures is vital in this role. The initial focus of this role will be to support existing ERS test facilities, however, there are opportunities to devise and commission new test equipment.

Senior ESS Engineer

Honda is seeking Senior Energy Storage System Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis. The purpose of this role is to work within the Energy Recovery System (ERS) development and testing team, taking responsibility for system level development of primary high voltage circuit, inverter, dc-dc converter and overarching battery management system. The engineer is also responsible for final sign off of all production ERS units, including fault finding, troubleshooting and implementation of countermeasures during the build process. This involves operating ERS trackside, managing any issues at the track and reporting those back to the factory base.

Energy Storage System Engineer

The Energy Storage System Engineer will work within the Energy Storage System (ESS) development and production team. The Energy Storage System Engineer will be responsible for the system level development of the primary high voltage circuit including battery system, battery management system and other subsystems, as well as fault investigation and setting countermeasures during ESS pack production stage or sign-off process. The role is also responsible for fault investigation of the ESS pack at factory, after races or test use, as well as addressing the countermeasures and conducting the follow up actions within the team.

Honda is seeking an ERS Test Technician to join the business on a permanent basis, based in Milton Keynes. The purpose of this role is to operate, maintain and evolve existing ERS test facilities to support development of Formula 1 Power Unit. The intial focus of this role will be to support the existing ERS facilities, however, there are opportunities to devise and commision new test equipment.

Senior Composites Design Engineer

Honda is seeking a Senior Composites Design Engineer to work within the Energy Storage System design project team working on the Honda F1 project.  Responsibilities include driving the conceptual and detailed design of the ESS pack. This includes the global layout, the enclosure design, both composite and metallic race car parts, any manufacturing tooling required, experimental parts, rig testing and calculations/experimentation. As a senior member of the design team you will provide technical leadership as well as guidance to the design team.
