Yuki Tsunoda, who is part of Honda’s young driver development programme, will be at the wheel of a Scuderia AlphaTauri Honda Formula 1 car in the Young Driver Test, which will take place at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit on Tuesday 15 December, following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The Young Driver Test is aimed primarily at young drivers to give them experience driving a Formula 1 car. Apart from being part of the Honda young driver programme, Tsunoda is also part of the Red Bull Junior Team. This year he has raced in Red Bull colours for the Carlin team in Formula 2. At the final round in Bahrain last week, he won the feature race and came third in the sprint race, to claim third place and best rookie in the championship. In total, he won three races and finished on the podium seven times this season.
